Défouloir au quotidien...

I had a double sprain at my ankle on Saturday but that didn't stopped me from modeling until yesterday. I'm nearly ready to paint primer on Natsumi & Miyuki models this evening and maybe work "live" at Wieze(IPMS convention 2004) Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October.

Sunday we had the last rally of PaCiMo season at Modave. We "raced" with the Mini Cooper and the Triumph Dolomite. I've put some pictures in the events gallery.

I scanned some old pictures and cards of JASDF/JMSDF aircrafts that I found in my aircraft doc. boxes. Theirs copyright owners are unknown to me and I never found these pics on the Internet before so I'm open to give these info if you have some.

Karate season has re-started and that leaves me less time for modeling but my evenings will be very busy as I'm currently building four projects: Mirage V BA (two aircrafts) of 1st & 2nd SQN with "blackbird" and milkyway" shemes (1/48), ="http://forum.aceboard.net/45288-619-9166-0-.htm">Kawasaki T-4 (two aircrafts) of Blue Impulse and Blue Dolphin (1/48), F-15DJ "Midori" and Mitsubishi T-2 "Aggressors" for AMC GroupBuild (1/72) and Miyuki&Natsumi (Taiho Shichauzo anime) 1/6 figures .

I enhanced my working area: less junk on the desk with some wooden boxes to handle the tools and little built parts, a new compressor and airbrush (former post of my trip in Maastricht), scratchbuild tools
(sculpt blades for epoxy, 0.3mm drills, tiny saws, ...). I also learnt how to use my digital camera for macro shots with different light sources and a tripod in order to realize better modeling shots.

And I did some bike this Sunday as it was mobility day in Belgium. That's all for these days...

WE en Gaume

The famous "Kayak on the Semois" event organized by Stéphanie and Alex every year was scheduled this 7+8th weekend. They made a party o
n Saturday in their new house and we went on the Semois on Sunday, with a new course from Chassepierre to Herbeumont. Excellent days as usual! I hope we'll got Arnaud's pictures soon.

Current reading
La Pierre et le Sabre from Yoshikawa Eiji: Miyamoto Musashi's biography in the 17th century medieval Japan. With strong cultural referencies to Budo, Zen and wild nature, a must-
have with the following french traductions of the original book (splitted in two volumes, with "La Parfaite Lumière")

Free Software
Just updated my static website with a reorg of the document tree. In the future I will maintain only some branches of the site, focussing mainly on "Technologies" and
"Free Software". Other subjects that I'm still active on (anime, modelism, events) will be updated via links to the lab site with CGIs (wiki, gallery,...) and I'll freeze the other pages as they're now. Just
because I don't have much free time for all the things I wanna do I decided to focus only on important ones.

Model kit in progress

It was the September Fair in Wanze during this weekend. Some sport/cultural associations of the town had their hut in front of the town hall and there was a country-rock concert on Saturday evening, with fireworks that I attended with Nathalie.

It was also the IPMS Brussels expo at the Cinquantenaire Air Museum. I only had little free time these past two days and I came late at the event, just in time to take some pictures of a Hasegawa 1/48 F-2A model -that I also have to built- and to repackage my 1/32 F-104J that was on the Amay Model Club table, just before the closing of the museum. So we decided to go on the Grand Place of Brussels where there was a Belgian beers event. I hope I'll have much time to go at Belgian IPMS Wieze in 2-3 October.

I worked on my Kawasaki T-4 duo this everning: I made the dark lavis then the light shading and mat varnish on both 1/48 cockpits.

I took that picture using my Canon powershot A20, but I cannot zoom on details -with or without flash- without having a blur effect. I'll try another lighting source.

New modelism hardware

I went to Maastricht yesterday evening to acquire a new air compressor (silent one) and a dual-action airbrush to replace my general purpose Airpress compressor and enhance my paiting skills (my current Badger 350 is a single-action airbrush).
I'm going forward to test it tomorrow. I found a Revell Omega (Werchter-15 "fridge-motor") whitch is only 25db and a Badger 170 "Crescendo" airbrush for an affordable price at "Shamrock Modelbouw". They have lots of Revell struff and I found an A-7E Corsair II 1/48 box (rebranded Hasegawa). Happy happy... I'll use the nice one to correct the ugly ESCI box I'm doing since July.
