Apt-get

Apt-get update/upgrade is an excellent tool from Debian GNU/Linux, but sometimes you can have lots of problems when you have a limited amount of free space on your system.
From last week's upgrade on my Testing, I needed to download 150Mb of packages and afterwards 45Mb will be used. Postgresql data resides on a RAID out of / but I encountered problems with disk space, because
apt wanted to use the /var filesystem for migration dump.
Same problems two weeks ago for OpenOffice, while upgrade requested 60Mb for files & 25 more after upgrade, I was obliged to free up 250Mb only for a temp space during OpenOffice 1.1 upgrade. SuSE also have
some problems during YOU while they provide a kernel patch: when mkinitrd fails, it didn't tries again until success but returns to Yast. At first reboot, you're in trouble with GRUB and need a failsafe boot
+mkinitrd to solve it (if you have enough disk space).
These glitches took me time to solve and a little headache but when you add these time slices, you find yourself loosing half a day per two weeks, correcting small problems for +-10 Linux systems. Maybee dist
ributions should double-check the actions of their patch distibution systems in order for sysadmin to have a less life doom and lambda users to avoid bad suprises.

Finaly can enjoy watching these kawai Natsumi & Miyuki with the recording of "You're Under Arrest" on AB3 at 7'30 during the week.
Translations are quite correct excepting the frenchie characters' names and the awful theme (as ususal with AB prod) but I don't mind because I'm used of that (Furansu-jin no baka!).
Well, I wonder where I can find the DVDs of these first series in japanese with english subtitles as I already have original DVDs of the OAVs, the Second Season and Movie without subtitles... but HK are of to
o bad quality.

It hurts

Sunday atfernoon will be the 2004 Belgian Ju-kumite tournament in Namur (Salzinnes). See the Schedule.

Yesterday we trained our competitors. I got a high punch in the side and it still hurts... I hope nothing is broken.

h St Georges and the Dragon!
The helpfull CarpeStudentem has a schedule of all these events in UCL. I'll keep an eye on that site.

Yesterday I watched Porco Rosso from Studio Ghibli in VO (japanese) with english subtitles. Each time I watch an anime from Studio Ghibli, even if I've seen them before, its magic is renewed.I'm looking forw
ard to receive my DVD box of the first Kidô Keisatsu Patlabor OVAs.

I was at the Belgian french-speaking Karate federation's kumite championship yesterday.

It was fun to see other karate-ka's techniques in this competition. I'm looking forward for the mini-tournament inside our Dojo (K.C. Wanze) in order to see if my level has improved... Gambate kudasai!
